mheld
Hello friends, I've installed a second OSC on a subdomain for the purpose of beta testing. I then backed up the live site locally and then "restored" the beta site from the local sql file, expecting that to reproduce the database as it appears on the live site. When that didn't work, I deleted all manufacturers and products that come with the OSC installation, but still no results. Is my thinking flawed? If not via the restore function, how should one go about "importing" a database?? Thank you, Matt

mheld
Did you rename the backup to reflect the name of the beta database? I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it... it appears that the file name of the dtb backup file changes each time I download it, presumably to reflect the exact date and time of backup. Upon opening the file in SQL, I don't see any obvious place to update the name. Whether I backup the live site or beta site, the file name is the same, with the exception of the trailing digits that seem to reflect the date and time. So how or where would I rename the backup? thanks again Matt
