Gift Registry is more than a wish list!

A gift registry allows customers to build more than a wish list. It is a wish list that other people can look up and buy things from.

 

allow customer to create an account, build her gift registry wish list with the item number and the quantity desired (eg. 12 china plates). and keep track of the qty ordered.

 

so future visitors won't buy any more "china plates" if the customer allready has 12. They will buy something else "she" needs.

 

keep the update simple. allow for delimited data files to be uploaded from a brick/morter store to MySQL Database with new regisrants info and registry items.

 

allow customer to log back in and modify or add items to the wish list/registry.

 

Let the customer log back in to see who has bought what and when.

 

situation: when user is buying a gift in a "registry" it goes in their shopping cart and they want it shipped to the gift receiver's address, not their own. so gift receiver's address is in database and the shopping cart knows to pull it with out displaying it (security reasons).

 

Good Luck! I'd contribute $500 US to the project if this could be pulled off. there are a few more minor details, but that is the gist of it.
