two stores, one database

I have two websites that I want to use the same database for. One is a "subdomain" under the other even though they have different names. I installed the new store through my provider (Ipowerweb) and used my old database. The sample page is up, and it's accessing my old catalog, but when I click on a link for anything, the url goes to my first website, and when I click home it takes me back to the first website address, not the new website address.

Is there a way to install oscommerce with a new database, then just import the categories/products into the new database?

The forum search engine is notoriously bad I'm afraid. Enter the following into Google to search the OSC forums effectively:

 

some search keywords site:www.oscommerce.com/forums
