I want to secure admin page(admin area) with user name and password, I tried contribution modules but it is not working , Please help me how I can secure my admin page. Forum links. IF you have a hosting control panel you can use a directory protection system offered with hosting control panel just add protection to the admin directory. 2. Which software you will advise/recomend me to edit Page front, I mean to edit website, Is dreamweaver is good enough to edit oscopmmerce web site front end. Notepad.exe anything else will mess with the code. 3. I am using Wamp server for my oscommerce website, how I can put ssl in it. No clue I use linux servers. But you can always buy an ssl if you need one. That would be a start. 4. during Installation of oscommerce when I have to create new database, i did'nt put password in, do I definately have to password protect this default database which is used by oscommerce. or it is safe enough to run my business. Always password protect your databases hackers have bots that look for these weaknesses and take advantage of you and I don't think your customers would be happy knowing their information is not protected. for now thats it, I will be thankful for reply. Thanks and regards zee
kudviss Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Hi, this is an important topic, i hope folks will help us secure our shops, because i also posted such a topic before but the relpies were rather vague because I am new to oscommerce and php. Well for admin password what i know is that you can set a password very easily through your host cpanel. Just look around the options offered by your host and you will find protect directories, you should select admin directory and protect it. Hope this will be helpful, regards,
