Guest Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I'm sorry to bring this subject up again when there are hundreds of the same question on the boards. I've read them 'til I'm bleary eyed. To edit the content we go to catalog/includes/languages/english/ right? I don't seem to have the word "define" anywhere in those files - privacy, conditions or shipping. Here's my catalog/includes/languages/english/privacy.php file. I promise that's the path. I copied and pasted. What have I missed?? <?php /* $Id: privacy.php,v 1.22 2003/06/05 23:26:23 hpdl Exp $ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright © 2003 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License */ require('includes/application_top.php'); require(DIR_WS_LANGUAGES . $language . Please! I've been sitting here several hours reading, trying to figure out what to do. It's a big deal for me to admit I need help. I actually set up OSC nearly a year ago. Got the main things working then started adding merchandise, but even that only in flurries of activity. So in all this time, I'm really not very far along - and I forget how to do anything except add to the catalog. But it's time to get this show on the road and here I sit, stumped. This is the site, not live yet as there is an old, somewhat neglected, html version still working. http://www.snapdragonantiques.com/catalog/ There are probably other issues I'm not aware of, but right now, I just want to edit those few files! Thanks for your patience, Wanda

Guest Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Exactly. You'd think I've got the wrong path. That's why I stressed I'd copied and pasted the path. The files in the /catalog/ folder look exactly the same. I don't understand why things aren't messed up on the site. Everything, as it is, works so well. All the planets are aligned and everything is right in the universe. I've certainly never edited these files. If I'd touched them, the whole site would have crumbled. How is it calling and finding a file that doesn't exist? And how did it get messed up in the first place? Everything was uploaded by the instructions and went smooth as silk. I'm not PHP savvy and have to do everything slowly, step by step, reading instructions as I go. Am I going to have to do the whole thing again? Can I just copy the files from somewhere and paste over the existing files? The site won't go into cardiac arrest if I do that? drmad Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Your files are quiet different of my files... Try backing up those files and replacing only the key files (shipping, conditions, ...) with the ones found on the OScommerce instalation package. Do NOT replace the ones on the root directory of your site. ;)
