I want to be able to update just one product, and have it update in all the other categories the product is listed in...... ALSO..... Lets say the same product is in 5 different categories.... If i do a search for product ABC.... i do not want it to appear as a result 5 times..... Any thoughts??????

In Admin - highlight the product you want to copy and click the "Copy To" button over on the right. Select the category you want to copy it to but also make sure the "link product" radio button is checked. This will copy the product into your selected category - but link it with the other one - so when you change it, the change will be applied to both products simultaneously.
