Hello,

I've recently installed v.2.2 and now I've come to adding catagories and products. however when I try to update/insert a new catagory the image shows as a broken link.

I have check the database with phpmyadmin and the information is there. The images are in the correct place, and when I click "veiw source" the image paths seem to be correct.

A solution please?

Sounds like your catalog/includes/configure.php file may have a problem.

To test: cut the image path from the "view source" and paste it into the location bar of your browser. You should see the image. If not, try adjusting the

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

line in the configure.php file.

Also, make sure the image files are actually in the images directory.

Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

here's a good one for you....

I uploaded my images, then entered the name into the catagory/image, right?

evidentally when I did that it over wrote the image and cause it to contain 0 k, not even one bit of data. Why would it do that?????

I reloaded the image and now it's a squshed size, I'll see if I can redo the size in the admin panel tomorrow.

Thanks anyway....hopefully everything will work out.

Hello folks,

I have the same problem. Somehow the image (I use pixel_trans.gif for showing no image) gets a size of 0 kb.

Is there a workaround or solution for that problem?

Thanks for any advise.

I also suddenly had broken links in my site. The strange thing was that some pictures were working. After checking it showed that it had to do with permission settings. Somehow the status of some images had changed to CHMOD 600 instead of giving everyone the right to read them.

same thing is happening to me. no matter what the permissions i set on the images directory, it'll always overwrite the image w/ a 0K file of the same name thus displaying a broken image.

suguested permissions fromthe doccumentation yeild the same results.

You might check the permission settings of your image directory. Very small change that this solves the problem, but you never know

I am having the same problem. Either the category or manufacturer create blank entries or I get the entry and the graphic disappears because it is altered to 0kb. I tried read only on the file but now it just creates blank entries. Please help if you know a solution.

Well this is kinda solution. Once I make the link and have the 0KB image file, I copy over it with the correct image file. This then works to display the image on the sight but what a pain. Still would like a better resolve to this. Thanks.

Hi!

Same problem here.

I upload my image to catalog/images - fill in the product information with the correct image name and click PREVIEW (broken image) - then INSERT to add the product.

I look at the FTP'd directory listing and my image now has a 0 byte length.

If I delete the 0 byte file and reupload it's OK!

But - well you know my question....

Also, if I'm working online rather than a local version to add products, is the BROWSE for image function on the add product page of any use to me?

Thanks

Ernie

Hi

I am not sure if this is related but using a current snapshot of osc, if I open the edit product page, and even with no changes, select preview, the image is lost.

I must always re-select (and I assume upload again) the image file. I just tested, and while I get a broken link, the image file is still in the directory with a file size. So I would guess that its a database update issue rather than a file issue.

As I said ealier, this might be unrelated.

cheers
