Logout as admin

Hello Everybody

 

I recently installed OsCommerce and I am working on changing the look of it. Everything works fine till now except that I can't log out when I am logged in as admin. I just don't find the button or link. It seems natural that there would be a log out button or link so I think I am missing it. Once I am logged in I can't log out. The only way to do it is to shut down the browser. Am I missing it or is there really no way to log out? Thanks in advance for your help.

Admin security is very important and you can protect yourself in a number of ways. Firstly, you could use htaccess to password protect your admin folder, this can also be achieved using the usual c-panel type control panels you get with most hosts. Another option, one which I have used, is to use a contribution.

 

I use the one in my signature and it seems to work fine. I haven't taken a store live with it yet but I am about to. We shall see if it is as secure as it says it is!

 

It writes a value to the database which prevents someone accessing your site by using the back button if you have accessed the site in an internet cafe or whatever.

Thanks for the reply. It gave me some things to think about that I will have to come back to later.

 

What I was after was that when I am logged in as admin and I am seing the adming page with the blue square in the middle with the products and catalog and all that there is no way to log out. Like for example if a customer logs in there is a link that is called Log off so that the customer can log off when he is done with the shopping. But there is no such link when you are admin. When I am done with my work in the admin pages I would like to log out but there is no way to log out except to close the browser. Or is there a way to log out and I am missing it?
