Guest
Hello just wondering if anyone else has encountered this and has a solution. Customer places order, confirmation emails go out to admin and customer. 2-3 days later, sometimes a week, check order details and the products listed in the order details go missing. Customer name, product totals with tax and shipping etc everything else remains intact. But there are no products listed in their order details. This does not happen to every order. It appears to be extremely random. It seems to have no relationship to items that are in or out of stock or have been deleted. This has been going on periodically for several months but seems to be getting worse. I have spent considerable time trying to isolate the problem and fix it but to no avail. To cope, we have been editing orders with this problem and adding the product back in. But this is a pain in the butt. Here is an example screenshot: Any ideas? Thanks! satish
well You need to analyse that it should have relation to a payment gateway used for orders. and then focus further. Also suggest you to add order holding contribution. Satish Mantri Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site. Check My About US For who am I and what My company does. Guest
well You need to analyse that it should have relation to a payment gateway used for orders.and then focus further. Also suggest you to add order holding contribution. Satish Mantri Thanks Satish but I don't think it has anything to do with the payment gateway. The orders are paid for and complete. After the order is complete all the data is there. Days or weeks later some orders have the product details missing. This happens to random orders at random times. What relationship would the payment gateway have to the product details? Any other ideas? Any one else have this problem?
satish
Well if orders are getting lost after few days then its not an issues of payent gateway for sure. You check Your cron scripts if there is something that might be deleting. else there is a buggy code that is just updating some tables. Please put down whatever contribs had been added to your site. triktoys
Here is the fix for this and its easier than the order holding contribution as you do not have to modify nearly as many tables, etc. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...h,order+details We fixed our site with this! Eric Actually to get into more detail, this fix is GREAT. Here is why- instead of just bringing in order detail and fixing the problem (as the other "order holding" contribution does, with much more technical work and more table modifications), this fix rocks because it captures your cart information right before the order confirmation step in the shopping cart. AND, as a webstore owner, this is actually a fanstastic fix for 2 reasons. First because you get the order detail if they click continue or not at the end of the transaction (which will give you order detail and solve the problem). Second, store owners always want to know if someone is shopping their site and is in the process of buying items and then drops off, or bails out. No one wants to lose a sale right? This fix captures users cart details both before AND after they buy, and even tells you in the notification email if the payment is NOT PAID or PAID so it wont throw off your order processing (so you wont accidentally ship something to a pending, non paid order). So if they bail, you can see what they were about to buy and then email them telling them you will give them 10% off the order they were about to place as an incentive for them to finish their transaction and buy. It's one of those great discoveries you come upon by accident... Hope it works for you all.
Guest
terrorr, We have the same problem. It happens to random orders which were complete before and suddenly after some time they lose product lines. Sometimes all product info is gone, sometimes one or more products are missing. Totals etc. stay intact. It is very weird.
