osc and affilate window datafeeds

Hi, I am for the first time using osCommerce and wish to use the affiliate window datafeeds for the products. I am new to this and need some help with the formats. The AW feeds are simple one column for each heading, one line for each product. The sample database with osc is in a different format, (I exported it from my server using the xl 2000 option). How do I insert the products from AW into this database? Is there a way of changing the way the osc db is shown so I can add addition products easily or is there a bulk upload facility in osc. I know I have a lot to learn but I do not want to send weeks with this if there is something simple that I do not yet know. Any advice would be great. I have not yet changed any of the setting in osc as I need to be sure I can easily add new products before committing any time to the layout etc.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have had a look at this. I have downloaded the program (2.61 I think). It says that I need to add a line to one of the .php files. How to I do this. My pc does not reconise this type of file. I am sure it is something simple, the type of thing that is easy once you have been told how.

 

I am also trying to change the database myself but have encountered another problem. I can export the DB from my web space as an .sql file. The problem is that I cannot import it back to my web space. I have tried to include the replace or drop instructions. I have tried several settings but to says either:-

 

 

"DROP DATABASE" statements are disabled.

 

or

 

#1007 - Can't create database 'db1984.....'. Database exists

 

 

I have contacted my host and am waiting for a reply, just woundered if anyone else had any ideas.
