Guest Posted February 28, 2007 Share Posted February 28, 2007 In frame meens it takes up 100% of the page size you can change this if you look at the code in your shop main pages eg index.php just below the body it will give the page size as 100% so you will see sothing like this <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="3" cellpadding="3"> if you wnat your pages centered then change to <table border="0" width="800px" align="center" cellspacing="3" cellpadding="3"> you will need to repeat on the other pages in the site ie. the main pages used in your site like create_account , prouduct_info ect meta tags and header you will need to install the Contab for that and then its easly edited from their sotheing like this will help http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...all/search,meta Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted February 28, 2007 Share Posted February 28, 2007 BACK UP, BACK UP ,BACK UP , that way you will not mess anything up that cant be fixed and dont for get to get a SQL Dump CRE will only confuse you more when you go to add or modify anything since its very packed full of stuff that you may not even need I dont have anything agaist CRE I have used but i have found i learnd my OSC craft by adding moudles forceing me to learning the structure ect. then if you ever work with CRE or any other Fork you have a much better grounding of knolage as to what the basic OSC is rather than having something that is very bloted and files in different places Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted February 28, 2007 Share Posted February 28, 2007 Most shops that have been designed to a high Lv will have taken months to develop and test and in most cases i am sure if you asked its never finished since its allways work in progress so being at it for days doesnt realy pull many hart strings :-) their is a step learning curve to oSc if you dont have the knolage to start of with but 90% of user here all started out with minamal knolage of PHP and have learned as they go along if the contab you want isnt clear then see if ther is an other one that will do the job since there can be several different types to do the same job plus use the Contab help threeds, serch forms for the answer to your problem since its probly been answered 10 times over failing that ask a question and i am sure you will get help in the fourms and allways back up before doing anything most users are too busy just to set up your shop outright for you and some will only help you in fourms since it helps every one that way Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like I said, you want to keep them even and consistent throughout your site. Believe me, dude! I know how frustrating it is and it takes a LONG time to get things going. Just today, I spent 10 hours working on it and you'd barely notice the difference but it all does add up. When I am making any changes, I make them literally one line at a time. Make change, upload, view/test, make change, upload... that way, I can back up and know exactly where I've screwed up if something doesn't work. Also, people here are amazing!
