dwb222 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Hello. I am a web administrator for a site that I didn't create but that uses this tool. While I can see the files and play with configuration, I am not sure how to do a very simple thing: access the admin tools to change templates, update, see client info, etc. It appears that I have to log in using a URL on the web; I am not sure what that URL is or how to find it. Please help! Thank you.

Please help!Thank you. On mine it is {http://mysite.com/catalog/admin} I can't change the template there but I can take care of all admin stuff. Well, I used to be able to, until my server upgraded. Now I can't do anything. LOL
aheisey Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Just navigate to your 'admin' folder. For example I access mine http://mysite.com/osCommerce/catalog/admin No need to indicate any files, just the location.
dwb222 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 I have tried both of these paths, with no success. How can I find the admin folder if it isn't one of these two paths? Just navigate to your 'admin' folder. For example I access mine http://mysite.com/osCommerce/catalog/admin No need to indicate any files, just the location.

How can I find the admin folder if it isn't one of these two paths?Dan, did you try looking for it in the root folder? I know some "automatic" installs upload the admin folder outside of the default "catalog" directory. Just FTP to the site and locate the admin folder starting from the root and go down from there. ;) Bill Kellum Sounds Good Productions STS Tutorials & more: STSv4.6, STS Add-ons (STS Power Pack), STS V4 Forum STS Forum FREE TEMPLATE
usernamenone Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Someone must have renamed your admin folder. FTP to your website and see what the names of the folders are. Admin in one of the 4 folder not counting the install folders just inside the catalog folder. all eles faile download the latest oscommerce and look inside the readme folder for answers.
dwb222 Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 You were right--it was renamed, and I had to do some things to fix the bugs in the system. Another question: Is it possible to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 on the internet? If so, how? Someone must have renamed your admin folder. FTP to your website and see what the names of the folders are.
