E.g. you can order a notebook and there is a list with notebook bags, external cd-recorders, etc. and these products are normal products in the catalog. I know it's possible to add product-specific options but for me, it seems to be crazy to add the same product as an option to 200 different notebooks, etc (my database contains about 17'000 products :( ) I'd prefer an options list to each product with linked products which I could easily update without copying any products. I'm using a snapshot from March 2002.

You could try to make a special sql query that takes a product and inserts it as a product option to save you some time... I think the closest resembling thing in the contributions is the cross-selling module. It displays other products along with a product, ie printer -> inkcartridges.
