Easy tutorials?

Is there a place that has some easy to read tutorials for a guy who is not that familar with html?

 

Here's what I need, I have my site kind of set up but really want to change the background and what not to personalize it. That's where I need to start.

 

Also, how do I make that screen go away in the beginning where it's asking customers to log in or create an account? I just want people to be able to come in and browse.

For a HTML tutorial, just do a google search for "html tutorial" (no quotes) there are plenty of good sites out there. You'll also want to learn php, so go through a "php tutorial" as well.

 

You can turn off the customer login from the admin screen. Its around there somewhere, I apologize for not remembering off the top of my head.

BTW - If you really are unfamiliar w/html & php you should try buying a preconfigured template.

I'm familiar enough to be dangerous, let's put it that way.

 

I'm certainly not afraid to do the trial and error bit either.

 

I guess I really need to know where to start however as in which file am I editing for the main page? Or for that matter, what file is the OS Commerce file for their logo so I can change it to my own?

 

I'm still racking my brain to find that customer login thing to turn off and can't find it.

All text is in the language files includes/languages/english/index.php Read the text on the main page, it will tell you where it is located.

Where I would turn off the option so when someone comes to my site, they dont have to register/login.

its not an standard option, you will need to install this contrib for that functionality
