corcaigh
Hi I moved my store from the default /oscommerce/ folder into the root folder of my site. I updated admin/includes/configure.php & also includes/configure.php Everything is working great on the site but I just can't log in. I've got the username/password written down so it's not like I've had a sudden case of amnesia! Any ideas?
omar2886
What is the problem? the access by the htacces? If it is, you just have to delete it and to create one new.
corcaigh
I have no idea. Just says that I am trying to log into the private area and keeps kicking back the login box. What do I need to do to recreate the .htaccess?
omar2886
Yes, you have to make another new. May be which you have now is corrupted. Try and tell me.
corcaigh
Would recreating the htaccess file grant my admin login? I've already downloaded it but there doesn't seem to be anything in there regarding login. (Newbie to .htaccess here) The message when I try to log in is: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
omar2886
The file in question which you have to remake is the .htpasswd inside the "catalog\admin" Delete it and create one new with the password you want.
corcaigh
A-HA!! That was it. I didn't need to recreate the password file, I needed to alter the path in the .htaccess file under catalog/admin. I had moved catalog to the root and changed those configure.php files but .htaccess was looking for the old path to log in. Once I deleted the "oscommerce" out of the file and updated it, it worked like a charm. THANK YOU!
corcaigh
Mind you, now the links under the admin page still all have the oscommerce folder in there. I thought that would have been taken care of when I made the changes to configure.php
