Dennis_gull Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hey, I saw a topic like this for some weeks ago but cant find it now >_< I was wondering what contributions I should install that would help me rank better on search sites like google and yahoo. (except from SEO) And I would also like to know what a site map is good for, does it give a better rank even if its not public (if I dont want people to enter the sitemap page)? Im not 100% sure what a sitemap even is, is it just one page with all my different titles?
Jack_mcs Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The main two you want to install are Ultimate SEO and a meta tags contribution, I recommend Header Tags. Sitemaps provide a quick way for the search engines to find links in your site. Without it, they will eventually find them, if your site is setup properly, but it could take a while. The google sitemap is just for google and is behind the scenes. It is nice since google provides stats about the visits to the site. The Dyanmic Sitemap provides links to your categories, infoboxes and pages for all of the search engines as well as your customers. You should have such a sitemap for your customers just out of good site design. The All Products with Images provides links to all of your products plus allows your customers to view your products in an orderly fashion. For optimium SEO affect, they should all be installed. Dennis_gull Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Thanks Jack, I will install meta tag, SEO and the google sitemap. And maybe the other sitemap too. Im not really sure I want a public sitemap I've never really used it or liked it myself.
