I've just changed my shop to have less underlined links where it should be obvious that it are links such as

- categories list

- manufacturers list

I was wondering what the general feel is, it used to be that sites using underlined blue links got higher click through rates, but I wonder if this is still significantly higher.

Does anyone have any decent statistics on this ?

What do you do on your site ? Could you answer the little poll ?

Thanks

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!

Maybe you should add another option :P

I'll add my answers here...

I underline links

(Page Properties) Underline Style: Show underline only on rollover (thats how i do it 99% of the time)

I colour my links

Custom colour (matching site theme)

I think you still need to let the links stand out in a way. But not in blue and underlined... I can believe that used to have a high click through rate, but i believe the same is true for a black text containing theme colored links.. sometimes, when really necessary i put them in bold too. I still like the idea, of when you go over with your mouse something change.. subtle.. so thats why i always use "Show underline only on rollover".

Not to sure if this survey is usefull... Allot depends on the kind of visitors you have too... i guess.

Even in this dark place, yes, I am afraid of my own shadow.

Thank you 'My Friend' ;)

Oops, can't change the poll anymore. I too use the hover effect to underline when not underlined. I have not deliberately bolded links, I know I tend to use too much bold so I refrained from bold this time :)

I find the underlining is needed because my visitors aren't all "tech savy" and need to have things pointed out to them sometimes. So i underline and color match to my theme.
