SymLink

Hi,

I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong section.

I have purchased the instantssl from comodo which has already been installed by my webhost.

My webhost uses the httpdocs and httpsdocs folder structure. I've searched through the forums and most people suggest getting the webhost to set up a symlink from httpsdocs to httpdocs.

The webhost has now done this and I have modified the includes/configure.php and admin/includes/confidure.php files accordingly but I am still having having problems!! The the website goes to a https page, the page is not available.

Apart from setting up the symlink and changeing the configure.php files, is there anything I need to do? Would I need to install osCommerce onto httpsdocs? If not, how can I test if the symlink is working?

Any suggestions would be great cos this is beginning to really confuse me. :(

Thanks in advance.

I have asked my webhost for help on this and got this reply

Hello,

Please note that you can't check the Symlink. Also we have checked the SSL certificate by entering the URL https://watchexchangeonline.com/ in the browser and the certificate seems to be working fine. If you want to use single directory for your SSL certificate i.e. the SSL certificate can be accessed by using https://watchexchangeonline.com/ as well as http://watchexchangeonline.com/, we can set it for you.

So please confirm, if you want to set single directory for your SSL. Before setting up the Single directory, we would also like to suggest you to take backup of your httpdocs and httpsdocs folder on your local pc in case there is any problem.

Please let us know, if you need any further assistance.

Best Regards,

Is this a good idea for SSL on osCommerce. This is way above my head.
