Hi,

Can anyone help me. I am trying to install oscommerce for the first time and dont seem to be getting anywhere. Is there an installation program of documentation available?

1.) if yer tring to install 2.1....it can be done....but

 

2.) 2.2 has an install script.....much easier.

 

3.) get the documentation for 2.2 at

http://www.oscdox.com

and read it

 

4.) should take no more than10 min to be up and running...

Hello, I am also having troubles. Seems to me i'm missing the Config.php in both the admin and catalog. This is v. 2.1

 

I have successfully(sp) installed the tables for the catalog and can see that end however I am not able to view the admin side. I get the "unable to connect to server!" message.

I have edited the application_top.html for both exactly the same, why am I getting this error.

 

I also tried to download v. 2.2 and am unable to connect with tep.sourceforge.net server.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already looked in the documentation, evidently I may be missing the install.php file also.

check your paths

 

is admin a sub dir of catalog?

 

look at your /includes/configure.php files

for some dumb reason my admin files went to /admin/admin/ and the paths said /catalog/admin.

 

changed them.....

to /admin/

 

double check the preferences and walla!!!

 

am now successfull.....
