Paypal issues

When a product is bought using paypal the order is not being processed correctly

I did a test buy and the product was not added to the "My Order History" page, but was still in the "Cart Contents" after going through the whole buying process.

There was no email with notification of product bought.

Also the quantity did not -1.

I've checked through the payment modules extensively and cannot find a fix to the problem.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Default Paypal module or the PayPal IPN contribution? If it's the default look into installing the PayPal IPN. What you describe is common when the buyer doesn't redirect back to the site after the PayPal transaction. The IPN will save you headaches down the road.

Look in the contributions section for PayPal IPN (Instant Payment Notification). Use that instead of the default PayPal module. If you have trouble getting it to work look in the Contributions Support fourms under Payment Modules for the support thread... it's usually on page 1.

It's acutally very easy to install and for a store with no prior contributions installed it should be easy.

It will log your customers orders in OSC even if they don't come back from PayPal. That's the biggest feature. The newest versions also pre-fill out the PayPal forms so the customer doesn't have to do it twice... also very nice.

Having a hard time figuring out exactly where to upload the files to.

Some of the file folders in the update aren't on my file manager.

And not sure where to put the root files that weren't seperated into folders...

I have done all the uploads for the contribution and edited filename.php.

I did the request for the API certificate. Where does this info go?

Did a test buy, still getting the same result. Product is still in cart after paying.
