unique licences for products

I have a product which I wish to sell online. The customer will be purchasing a licence key only, as the software is a free trial download. How can I make sure that when a customer purchases a licence key, the key they download is unique from a list of keys stored on the server?

 

I apologise if I have posted tis in the wrong area, not sure what category it should be in

YOu need to set a flag as a fieeld and key as another field.

Whenever a key is issued just set the flag(also when issuing check the flag).

 

Also keep the table field key properties so as to not allow duplicate values.
