corcaigh Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 'allo all! :-" Here I am: http://universico.com/oscommerce/catalog/index.php I would like to get rid of the category box on the top left and replace with gif buttons (that would link, of course, to each category home page). I want to streamline the aesthetics. I've already created my gif buttons and I know how to remove boxes from the left or right columns but unfortunately have no idea how to replace that content. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
ErollorD Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 well there are few contributions that can post categories as buttons, but you will need to modify it a little bit to insert images...
corcaigh Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 I could really just use HTML to input the images & links, just not sure how to incorporate that osCommerce.
ErollorD Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 well you could create normal html category box which you will need to manually edit if you add/edit/delete category, but this isn't something that I would suggest..
corcaigh Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 How would I go about doing the html box?
ErollorD Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 ok here is demo http://em-studio.info/shop2 some category images are missing, because I don't have time to add everything..
corcaigh Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 That's close to what I was talking about. Ideally, I want to be rid of the actual boxes themselves and have a smooth navigation on the left hand side. (THANK YOU!)
corcaigh Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 Perfect!!!!!! Now, how do I do it??
ErollorD Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 now at the moment the images for cats must be the same extension, so gif OR jpg. Then images must be the same name as categories + there should be no blank spaces, you must replace them with _, because there could be some problems with loading images. Now this is your decision, all images must be lowercase OR same as category names, so first letter uppercase... when you will be ready, let me know...
corcaigh Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 Everything is saved as a gif and in all lowercase.
