Sales Tax

I need help! I have gone through all the steps of configuring sales tax, but it is not applying it to the product during checkout. I have set up one zone (DC), selected the country and regions, set up the tax rate yet it is still not working. I went through every step in the osCommerce documentation but still can't get it to work. I don't know what else to do???!!!

Did you apply a zone to the zone you created? Go to admin->Locations/Taxes->Tax Zones and select your zone. In the right column it will say "Number of Zones." If that is 0, it is not set up properly.

You have to drill down further, in the tax zones, you will see a folder (DC) - double click on the folder to drill down one more layer . . and choose the correct state.

How can I make it so only purchases made in my state are charged sales tax and not out of state?
