Template not showing up

Here's the deal now. After going through everything and setting permissions(brand new for me) and I got to see my starter store. The template that I uploaded in the first place isn't showing up now. Now all I get is that boring ass standard store front.

Anyone got any ideas why this is? I'm sure this is simple again but being brand new to this is a pain after pain. I don't want to go and "F" up what I already did so any help would be great guys/gals.

Thanks

Hey Jack-

I finally got it. It's such a freakin' relief when it finally says ".......successfull(typo?)"

Now on to why my template is not being shown. For some reason when I went through all of this and I finally was able to get to view my fledgling store it's the basic drab osCommerce site. Before I was able to see my template that I uploaded.

Once again I know there's a simple answer here as well. If you have any ideas please throw them this way. If not I'm gonna post this in regular section.

Thanks again

What do you mean, see the template you uploaded? Are you using STS?

I'm not sure what STS is. I had gotten a template from somewhere and when I initially uploaded it I could see the template as my storefront. But after going through the whole installation and config. all I see now is the generic storefront.

Please explain what STS is and if I should reupload my template. And if I reupload my template would I have to go through the install again?

Thanks

STS is Simple Template System, if you want to find out more search the forum, it's all over here.

As for your template, from what I can gather, if you by a template from someone like Template Monster, you have to install it as a fresh install. My reccomendation would be contact the person you bought the template from - they should be able to tell you how to successfully install it.

Cheers.
