Mystery image won't go away

I've edited some text in ...languages/english/index.php @ line 19 define heading title. I've put 'Welcome to our Shop' but there is a corrupted image path showing where the table_background images usually appear. When you hover over it you get the alt. text of 'Welcome to our Shop'.

I'm trying to replace this with a tiny white gif so it references something that appears invisible against the white background.

Has anyone overcome this one?

osCommerce admin panel --> Configuration --> Images -- Image Required --> set to false.
