ollyno1uk2
Hi there I unfortunately suspect that I have allowed a fraudulent transaction to come though my site. i need some advice on how to prevent this from happening. I use paypal pro. They offer AVS checks but they say that most UK cards are not covered? If this is the case is there any other ways I can check? The thing that frustrates me the most is I currently have a transaction whcih I suspect. I have told paypal about this in the hope they would ocntact the card issuer to contact the customer to confirm if it is or isnt. They are not prepared to do this and I have no way of being able to do this myself, I have contacted the police and they also refuse to do anything. It is extremely frustrating and it looks liek Ia m set to lose £1000s in a very short space of time. Any advise would be appreciated on what to do. khime
I dont really like Paypal for this reason If you have a decent turnover apply for a merchant account with a big bank like Natwest or HSBC secure epayments. Both these banks will do a CVS (3 digit security number) and AVS (address and post code) check. If any fail you can reject or just put the sale under review I hope this helps
ollyno1uk2
Hi thanks for the reply Unfortuantely being a new business my turnover is very low and I am also calssed as a high risk business. This will prevent me getting a merchant account. I will however try and get one as soon as possible in the future. Thanks for the reply
