Guest
Since my website added the osCommerce Online Store in December 2006, I have had the following continuing problem: 1.) Customers place orders through PayPal. I receive a "You've Got Cash" email from Paypal and the money is correctly deposited to my PayPal Account. 2.) However, most of the time but not all the time, I do not receive an "Order Process" from osCommerce. 3.) When I go to my osCommerce site, I will find the PayPal customer's name in the osCommerce "Customer" list. However, when I click on "order," there is no order information listed. The only info listed is the customer's info as provided by the customer when they signed up for a PayPal account, so I have to call or email the customer acknowledging that I have received their cash but I have to request that they call or email me directly with their specific itemization of their order. 4.) Sometimes I do recieve "Order Process" emails from osCommerce but on most orders I do not. Since this happens most of the time but not all the time, the problem seems to defy a quick-fix. 5.) When I subsequently speak to customers by phone, I ask them how they placed their orders and it seems that they are following the osCommerce steps to completion so the fault seems to be a glitch in the system that is costing me more potential sales that are not even being executed. I am certain of this because there are many other customers who go to the trouble of setting up a PayPal account obviously with the intention of placing an order and then I never even receive orders or payment emails from PayPal. I assume this is happening because the osCommerce process becomes too confusing or breaks down all together on the customer's side as it is obviously breaking down on my side. It is not a problem of osc. It could well be the fault of the payment module you are using, which I guess is the default paypal module come with osc. The problem you experienced is a well known issue of that module, which you'd not use or use with some other contrib called 'held order' or the like. Every few days on this forum there would be posts complaining the same problem as yours. So do a search on the forum you will find some solutions. Sorry I havent got a link for it.
