Guest Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Here's the deal. I am transferring my website from one host to another. Both have OSCommerce capability. I created the shop through my new hosts control panel. Now I'm trying to transfer my old catalog/products/settings from the old server to the new server via ftp, so we don't have to re-enter everything. The old host's directory structrure for OSCommerce is slightly different than the new. Old: "getpublishedinamerica.com/public_html/shop" The "admin" and "catalog" folders are insider the 'shop' folder. "getpublishedinamerica.com/public_html/shop/admin" "getpublishedinamerica.com/public_html/shop/catalog" New: "getpublishedinamerica.com/shop" The "admin" and "catalog" folders are in the root folder. "getpublishedinamerica.com/admin" "getpublishedinamerica.com/catalog" I have done something right, because when I go to the shopping cart on the new server, ("getpublishedinamerica.com/shop") I get my customized page colors, banners, etc. But I'm still picking up the default OSCommerce catalog and products. Could someone please tell me what files I need to upload to what directory, and how/where to manually change the setting so that it will point to the files I upload. All help will be very much appreciated.

I'm no pro when it comes to OCS - but I believe you would have to export the database, and then import it to pick up your products, etc. Have you tried this...? Again - not sure that is the way to do it - but thinking how I would restore an online store that went down... I'd have to revert to the db backup (in some instances) and restore all files as well. Hope that helps a little... Maybe someone with more experience will chime in with more specific instructions. Take care- --Jeff
