cjw Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hi, I've just installed OS this weekend for the first time and didn't yet have my SSL. But now I have it and have altered the 2 config files in includes and admin/includes. But when I open the Admin screen, on the left it still says SSL is not enabled. Is there something else I should have changed? CJ
Jack_mcs Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Unlike the shops configure file, in the admin configure file, you have to change all references of http: to https:. cjw Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 Unlike the shops configure file, in the admin configure file, you have to change all references of http: to https:. Jack Just tried that but still get the admin screen saying "not" enabled. CJ
Jack_mcs Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Just to be sure, if you go to https://yourdomain.com, does it say it is locked? cjw Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Well, who can tell in IE?! But since I had only looked to see that the SSL was up in my web host, I used Firefox to check out my site. Yep, the padlock is there. Since I first posted this, I added the htaccess file my webhost mentioned and check my config files again. Now, it also seems my catalog page has lost its style sheet or something. The images are boxes with x's and the text is not following the previous font style. It's like, since the admin section thinks I don't have SSL, that it's lost the connection between http and https. Is that possible? CJ
Jack_mcs Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Yes, it is possible if te path to the files are confused. Take a look at this thread. It might be server related. cjw Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 I "found" my images again ... turned out to be a missing / that made all the difference there. I followed that thread and made the changes it suggested but still my admin says I'm not enabled for SSL. sigh. Think I may have to completely re-install since I can't find a thing that makes a difference. Plus, somewhere along the way I'm now getting includes/functions/sessions errors showing at the top of the admin and catalog pages. Haven't even touched that file so it's picking it up from somewhere else. CJ
