I have a completed store on my local computer and now wish to edit the preinstalled cart provided by my webhost. I intend to substitute the php files and the stylesheet that I have modified for the corresponding preinstalled files. As the snapshots might be different versions how do I ensure that their isn't a compatiblity issue? Is there a better way to proceed?
edschaum Posted October 11, 2002 Posted October 11, 2002 Each file has a version and date at the top of it. You are *probably* safe replacing any file which has the same version info. Be sure to back up the source files before overwriting any of them. If a preinstalled file has a different file version than your modified file, then you might want to paste your changes manually. Also, test your installation after each change so that if something goes wrong, you know where the problem is. If you already backed up, back up your files again anyway!!!! Ed
