andes1 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I have a question I have had a site for 2 years my site can be found on the search engines, I have usual clients, and so on… But the name is too bad, for example www.xtt566yuflowerxyz.com (I know, yes was a silly error) as you see this domain will be difficult to reach a top of mind; I wonder if I can change the name to, for example, www.youflower.com. This name has some edges like: easy to remember, more commercial name, marketing advantages etc. How can I do that? What is the best strategy to do it? I don’t want to hurt: my search engine rankings, SEO work, addition to favorites, my usual costumers etc. Thanks for your help

modulate Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 301? The old 301 debate - friendly or not! I would use it, and have, without problems. Redirect in PHP <? Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" ); Header( "Location: http://www.new-url.com" ); ?>
