Best way to move hostng accounts and doman names

I would like to hear from others on whats the best way to move my shop from one hosting account to some other hosting account. I will also be changing domain names?

 

Which files do I have to change?

what do I have to look out for?

My propsed procedure:

 

- get a test account at your new host

 

- install osCommerce from stock

 

- check if everything works and make notes of needed changes

 

- delete the test installation and empty the database

 

- backup the database on your old server

 

- SAVE THE BACKUP!

 

- backup all files on the old server

 

- SAVE THE BACKUP!

 

- copy all files to the new server

 

- make necessary changes to either catalog/includes/configure.php (2.2-CVS) or catalog/includes/application_top.php (2.1)

 

- same goes for admin/includes/configure.php or admin/includes/application_top.php

 

- upload the database content

 

test, test, test.
