Scheme138 Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 so my web host will not allow me to create a symlink between httpsodcs and httpdocs. So therefore i have to install oscommerce across both of those locations. i COULD just mirror both of them, but i would RATHER install the needed files on either one or the other. Is there a reference of which files are called from https and which ones are not when SSL is enabled? for example i think everything in admin/ needs to go under https right? i also need this information for installing plug ins like google checkout, etc.... ps. dont use globat for your web host
wheeloftime Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 ps. dont use globat for your web host so why not go to a better one instead of going through all that trouble ?! It is not neccessary to have your admin working under SSL but you surely have to (password) protect it very well.
Scheme138 Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 so why not go to a better one instead of going through all that trouble ?! under contract. im in too deep. It is not neccessary to have your admin working under SSL but you surely have to (password) protect it very well. if i have access to SSL, i would like to use oscommerce as it was intended with SSL. so basically i need some directory/file listing for files both called securely and non-securely.
Jack_mcs Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 It is better to just have duplicate directories. There will be files included by the secured files and it just isn't worth it, in my opinion, in trying to keep track of two sets of files. When you install a contribution or make some change, just upload it to both directories and you won't have to worry about which file goes where. Scheme138 Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 man that is a major bummer. is there any code i can put in php or something that can redirect it? any other solutions to having dupe data?
Jack_mcs Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Not that I know of. That is what a symlink is for. If you try a regular redirect it will probably lose the session ID so the order would never complete.
