Is there a contribution i can install that will show other products related to the one my customer is viewing.

You can see this on alot of sites and it normally says "you may also like" or " customers who bought this also bought"...

Heres a link to my site, as I have a template installed I have a feeling that what i want to do may be more difficult?

www.discountmania.co.uk

any ideas?

There is an Also Bought option already built into the shop althugh it doesn't work exactly as it should. There is a contribution to fix this. There is also the Family Products contribution that should do what you want.

The Also Bought option I mentioned isn't something you can control. It is always on and a box will appear if someone purchases something that someone else purchased.

Use the 3.0 version of that contribution. The other, as far as I know, is no longer supported.

hi,

how does related products differ from family products?

Ive installed family products but am having a few issues with the way it works. for example, it either lists the products alphabetically so my customers only ever get to see the first 10 or so products, or it lists them randomly and the items are not related to what the customer is viewing. Not very user friendly!

Will related products be any better? Do you use it yourself?

Never used Family Products so I can't say but yes I use Related Products a lot. You can assign (thru Admin) individual products that relate to individual products. They appear underneath the main product info and pic.

^ if you have more than, say 10 products in one group, will it rotate them, or show them randomly? because that is what i am after as Family products only ever shows the first few products in the group so you never see more than that.

I use Related Products and have been testing version 4, which is great! Wait for version 4 (should be out in a few days) and install that one. It will be worth it.

I was getting ready to install what's up there (v. 3.3c) and noticed your post. Is it just about ready, or should I just go with 3.3c for now? (very excited to be using this!)

Version 3.3c works great and the install is fairly easy. If you install it now, the upgrade to V4.0 when available is fairly easy also.
