Help With Shared SSL and osCommerce

Guest

Recommended Posts

Guys, i've only just found out my stupid host has a shared SSL license.

I've bought my license, however now have two different sites.

http://cutepooch.co.uk and https://cutepooch.ssl-01.com

However, I've got a problem.

When I click on the 'Create Account' link my normal site, it passes me through to the secure site fine. However, when I click Submit, it just reloads the form........

It appears the cookies or sessions aren't working?

Can anybody tell me where i'm going wrong?

I suppose you dont know what you are doing. I would suggest you do some reading on the forums knowladge base and find out how osc works. Then try to install osc w/o https, as you dont seem to have a straightforward ssl. By looking at yuor site just moment ago, you got it complete wrong (asking for username/pw for the shop front, and whole site covered by that SSL,etc).

Hi Ken, thanks for your response.

I do have a basic understanding of OSC.

Contrary to what you say, I have already installed OSC without https with no problems what so ever. Created a user, palced an order - no problems.

The reason I have passworded the shop front is because it's under development, and I don't want anybody other than myself or people I ask visiting it, registering, placing an order, etc...

And your incorrect again i'm afraid. The whole site is not covered by the SSL - why do you think that?

Well, you posted the two links in your 1st post, (although you did not say/invite people to click) that normally means you ask people to go & take a look and see where you may go wrong, which I did but confronted with pw etc hence my 1st comment. your 2nd link with https did work albeit with error & took me to a stock osc, hence my 2nd comment. and I was not happy to see all these especial the first one b/c it was a bit silly to post a link with pw only access. in fact my first time to come across a link in the post which you simply are not allowed to access.

Exactly, I didn't ask you to click and have a look. If I'd have intended that I would have posted the password.

(Read back your post and see if it makes sense, cos it sure doens't to me!)

OK, you were right and I was wrong: you did not ask me to answer in the first place! and I will never do.
