Product Attributes ~ Help! :S

Hi again :blink: ,

 

I have a new problem... I'm creating a website where the product will be personalized with a persons name, age, etc. In the admin, under Catalog, Product Attributes you are able to enter values/strings for products options that will then be displayed as drop down menus in the products page. what i need is an input box for the user to be able to enter in a value/string such as their name, etc.

 

does anyone know how i would accomplish this??

 

i've seen it done on other sites before, but have no idea how to implement it on mine.

 

any help is much appreciated,

ok so after installing that feature, i get this on my store:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'nobody@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home2/permaloc/public_html/cmc/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

 

anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this??? :'(

thanks to jasonabc for clarifying... i had accidentally uploaded a blank configuration.php file, which screwed up the access to the database causing that problem.
