Download link not showing up in order history

Store is located here: http://www.acousticfuel.com/catalog/

The store only contains a single "test" album. When a user purchases a song off of the album (via paypal), they are redirected (after the completed paypal transaction) back into the site where they can download the song. If the user does not download the song at that time, however, there seems to be no way to get back to the download page. There is no link to download the product in either the "previous orders" or the "my orders" sections.

Anyone got any ideas?

the links are displayed when order staus has reached a certain level.

So please do set the order status update in payment to be set to the requiired level or in the download contrib to a lower level.

Thanks satish.

While I can't quite grasp what I should do from your post, I have done a little more research, and hope the solution is not far behind.

According to the front page of my store, orders can be in any one of 4 "status" levels: pending, processed, delivered, and preparing [paypal IPN]. My tests have produced the following results: 13 orders are in pending, and 7 orders are in preparing [paypal IPN].

When I click on any of the order links (lt side of admin home page), no orders are there (it states displaying 0 out of 0 orders).

This makes me think that the order "status" levels are acting buggy (much like satish suggested). The problem is that I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting this. How do I check/then set the order status?

More info:

From admin home page, after clicking on > modules > payment, I have only one payment type installed: Credit/Debit Card (via PayPal) (or Paypal IPN). There seem to be 2 different settings that I can adjust specific to order status:

1. Set Preparing Order Status (Set the status of prepared orders made with this payment module to this value) - I have this set to "Preparing [Paypal IPN]".

2. Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status (Set the status of orders made with this payment module to this value) - I have this set to default.

Are these the settings that need to change? And if so, what should they be set to?

I've got the site owner prepared to do a test purchase of a single item, over and over again, but using a different settings configuration for each purchase, until we stumble on the settings config that works.

Anyone with any thoughts on whether I'm embarking down the correct path here?

We did the test orders this weekend, and though the app is still not working the way I think it's supposed to, here's some more info to diagnose:

1. Regardless of what settings I set preparing order status or acknowledged order status, the orders end up under "pending orders" on the left side of the admin home page. However, clicking on these links (pending, processed, preparing, or delivered) does not take you to the list of orders. It does take you to the "orders" page, but the order count remains at 0 ("displaying 0 to 0 (of 0 orders). Changing the "status" drop-down box to a different order status also shows that there are 0 orders. This is clearly not how its supposed to work as the info box on the front page clearly states that there are 45 orders in the pending status.

2. When I login to the customer account at the site (the same one used for all the test orders), (userid- [email protected] : pword- D4M4X), then I click into > my account > order history (breadcrumb path: Top » Catalog » My Account » History) ..... no orders show up here. Yet, after ordering a song, the redirect link after checking out of paypal takes you into the same area of the site (breadcrumb path: Top » Catalog » My Account » History » Order #52) with the song download available. (So if a user doesn't download the song immediately after purchasing, the download link/page itself seems to go into some other dimension and can't be found again.) Another strange behavior in the order history section is that extra pages seem to be available in the upper right corner (though they are numbered with negative numbers). This makes me think that the system kinda knows that there are a bunch of orders for that user, and even though it won't display them, it has accounted for all the necessary pages that a bunch of orders would require.

Thanks to anyone that lends a fresh set of eyes (and brains) to this issue.

Hi

did you get any further with this?

Do you use a MOD for downloads?

This is not going to help you , but just to adding to the problem description with status.

I'm investigating simular issue with customers having not downloaded immediately, asking to do so after the limit of 3 days.

When I then 'update' the status, so they have 3 extra trials, in some cases (I can't pinpoint for the moment) the link does not become available in their account history.

Text is there, and also wrong expiry date is there (it's not recalculated). Weird thing even if in Config I set max days to 0 (unltd), the link does not become available too...

I'm using the Download controller MOD

Best wishes,

Danny

  • 2 weeks later...

These forums seem to not like me using firefox, and have not let me login correctly for a couple weeks now. I finally wedged my way back in, and this issue is still not resolved.

Here's a bump back to the top.

Thanks for your insight zudan. Do you have any new info on the downloads controller?

After rereading all of the previous posts, I'm curious about something satish said. How do I lower the order status in the download contib?
