Warning message with SSL

Now that we are no longer using a shared SSL cert. I get a waring message at the top of the catalog that doesn't go away...even if we are not in the secure section (https). It says:

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/russosta/public_html/osCommerce/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

the permissions are currently set at 644 and I even set them to 444 and it still gave me this message. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Use the file manager within your control panal with your host to chmod the file to 644.

FTP client usually does not work.
