The problem is from a bug in the modules portion of the latest version of osCommerce 060817. I posted a fix for STS users but it applies to all 060817 oscommerce users as well. gupster
Thanks but is there a eaiser way to fix this?? The reason for using oscommerce on this store is to quite simply run the store with a free template over the top. Keep it nice and simple if i add all this STS stuuf i then have to use a comparsion program etc as the template uses some of the same files. I can belive that the main download for oscommerce has a bug with paypal not being able to work?? Is there not another version? thanks

It has nothing to do with STS. I just posted it on the STS download page since STS users could not update their settings in admin just like you can't with the Payment Module and they kept posting their problem in the STS forum. Your problem is a GENERAL bug in the latest version of osCommerce. My patch will fix that bug, even if you do not ever use or install STS. All you have to do is copy the two compatibilty.php files over your existing ones and you are done and your settings will now update correctly in admin. If you do not want to do it the easy way (copy the files), then I also included the exact one line code change in each file so that you can do it manually if you wish. Really, it can not be any easier. Send me an email if you need me to walk you through it. I don't mind. Also, the bug has to do with ALL modules in the admin, not just payment modules. It affects the shipping moduels as well. Until you patch your store, you will continue to have this problem. bkellum
i followed the directions for the install. i have the sts link in my admin, but my paypal info still resets to the default when i hit update Hello my friend, STS does not have anything to do with your module updating issue. However, the 060817 Module Patch that I uploaded to the STS download site (mentioned above) does have everything to do with your issue and if applied, would fix your "payment module not updating" issue unless of course you are having other problems as well. You say you installed STS, then try this: In the modules section of the admin, change some of the STS settings (for example; true to false) and then click the update button. Did anything change? If not, then you have not applied the module patch above.
