It's Still Doing It!

This is a really annoying and confusing predicament and customers are getting really upset with me. I dont' want to have to dismantle OSCommerce on my site, I like it a lot, but I absolutely can't use it if it won't send me the orders after people make their PayPal payment.

Here's the goofy thing too...

The first order that was purchased didn't send me the order details. Then I came on this site and was told that it had to do with not being re-directed to the site after the PayPal payment. So I made some adjustments and the next order went fine, her order appeared in the shop and it was also sent to me.

I just recently had a third transaction and again it didn't save her order in my shop and it didn't e-mail her order to me.

Please help

Thank you.

Everyone but everyone has this.

1)

The first order that was purchased didn't send me the order details.

That's why you need the PayPal IPN contribution, it puts the order details into osC BEFORE the customer is sent to PayPal.

2)

Then I came on this site and was told that it had to do with not being re-directed to the site after the PayPal payment.

Yup if PayPal doesn't tell osC that there has been a successful transaction, what can it do??

As nice as the idea sounds there's very little by way of clairvoyant shop software about.

The problem is that PayPal does not make clear that the customer should click "Return to merchant" after pressing the "PAY" button.

Having installed PayPal IPN it wont matter as when you check your orders, if the customer was not returned to osC the order will be listed as a PayPal IPN.

You just go into PayPal and if the payment is there, change the status to "Pending" yourself. If it's not there then delete it (Wait a few hours first.)

I had this very same issue and have mostly solved it in my thread HERE.

Robert,

THANK YOU! I know I had installed something last time to try and fix this, but I don't recall it being called PayPal IPN contribution. I"ll try that out and see how it goes.

Thanks again for such a quick response, I truly can't thank you enough. I was about ready to break down after seemingly loosing a very good customer due to this.
