PROCUCTS SHOWN ON THE FRONT PAGE

I finally have my website functioning and it works nicely. It is located at:

http://www.neptuneposeidon.com/

There are 9 items for sale shown on the front page. How do I change this to 12 items instead of 9?

Also, the 9 that are there are always the last 9 items that I list. How can I get the system to randomly list products from my listings rather than just the last ones?
