Guest
I have been working on my online business for a year now. At the moment I am paying someone to edit my oscommerce site which can get pricey. Is it possible to make changes myself, I do not know php or any other programming language. Does anyone have any suggestions Thanks
jasonabc
At the moment I am paying someone to edit my oscommerce site which can get pricey. When you say edit - do you mean add/edit products, stick stuff on special offer etc? If so - you're being taken for a ride. You can do all this quickly/simply yourself using OSC's Admin Tool. No knowledge of any programming language is needed. (only reason I ask is because a new client of mine who had an OSC store was totally unaware of the Admin Tool. The 'developer' had kept it secret and charged her a large hourly rate to add new products etc when all he was doing was a couple of minutes point and click in the Admin Tool) Jason My Contributions: Paypal Payflow PRO | Rollover Category Images | Authorize.net Invoice Number Fix

Not changes to products, special orders e.t.c
ClefRock
I'm an old fan of php, personally I would suggest getting a HTML editor like dreamweaver, and installing the STS script. With the edits to 1 file, you can manually change the entire layout of your site. Like I said being a fan of php, I enjoy the ability to call on demand, however the STS script allows you to edit and still have time to live your life :) I would suggest uploading a 2nd cart to your FTP site with a different folder name, and installing it, and attempting the STS addon. The documents explain everything.
