supersprint Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Hiya, I hope one day I can return the favour because I am asking alot of support questions! Anyhow... I am at the stage now where I can and want to take peoples money from orders they make on my store. I've just had 1 guy e-mail me saying he wasn't able to purchase through my store. I want my customers to pay for their orders online using their credit/debit card and I want to process the payment manually here in my office with my terminal. So how do I go about this? I selected the payment module of 'credit card' in the admin area. I tested this myself but I got a few errors and nothing happened. Is there a contribution to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance Steve Quote
eclimb Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Steve, processing the cards manually is highly NOT recommended, not sure if its possible without editing quite a bit of code. You really need to re-evaluate the process for credit card orders. You don't want to put your customers at risk! I would not enter my credit card if the shopping cart payment module was not secure (https not http) to begin with. You may want to add the Paypal option (after you set up your business account with paypal) so that credit card transactions happen on their secured site and not yours. Please be careful would hate to see your business flop because of credit card theft or fraud. e Hiya, I hope one day I can return the favour because I am asking alot of support questions! Anyhow... supersprint Posted February 7, 2007 Author Posted February 7, 2007 Eric, Thankyou for your reply. I process in excess of 100 transactions each day using our com-media system which is linked to our defacto system and bank (somehow) We are quite a large mail order setup www.gprdirect.com We get an order over the phone and we would manually input the cc details. Setting up the Paypal might be an option however the 3.4% is a bit much tbh especially when the average order value of Supersprint is £1000 upwards. Also the www.supersprint-exhausts.co.uk site does have a secure SSL however I am having issues with this currently. Thanks Steve Quote
dynamoeffects Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Then again, you have to consider how much your time is worth having to manually enter credit card numbers, and then contacting the customers if the number's incorrect. Since you already have a merchant account, you're talking an extra £10-20 a month plus an extra 1%/transaction. Quote Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.
