I know that osCommerce has PayPal option so that people can use their paypal account to pay for the items in their cart. Will this cart also allow people that do not have a paypal account use a regular credit card, iew Visa, M/c, AmEx, Disc, etc. ? Also once the customer puts their payment info and it send it away, what happens to it then? I mean how do I get paid? Is there some setup where I put in my Paypal or bank account info and it gets sent there? Sorry if these are "newbie" questions, but hey that's what I am when it comes to doing online business. I've tons of personal pages with MySql and php, but never did any shopping cart stuff. Thanks for all your help people.
addaction Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 Using the Credit Card option, the CC # will be send to you in an e-mail. Then you have to process the CC yourself like you see in a store with a credit card terminal that is provided by a Merchant Account provider (you will need this to charge CC). You can also use a direct connection with the CC companies via a payment gateway. In that case the CC number will be send via the gateway to the CC companies and the card is charged for the amount in the checkout. Via your merchant account this money then comes to your bacnkaccount. Via Paypal or other 3rd party services the card is actually processed on their site and the money send to your paypal or bankaccount. So in order to take payments other than COD's you will have to set something up first.
