contact_phil_here Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Hi, My web host will only support a microsoft access database. How can I use a ms-access database with oscommerce? Thanks Guys, Phil
Guest Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I don't think you can, I'm 99% sure that it will only support SQL
abra123cadabra Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 From what I've seen it only works with MySQL databases. Most webhosts support these. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.
davidinottawa Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 My web host will only support a microsoft access database. This is a very frightening statement! Run away from this host - fast as possible. It's likely a grade 8 boy is running your domain name off a PC with a wireless connection that is being stolen from his neighbour! lol. Serioulsy - for a host to say that they only support access is not a good sign. Not even to mention that Acccess is very very weak in it's functionality as a database. david
