Need more help with blank page in STS4.3

I have installed STS4.3 with HTC headers. When I enable the template, I get a blank page for the index.php. When I disable it the default OSC works fine. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot. I have this in a test site however I will need to put into two production sites and need to understand this firts.

 

I have replaced the index.php with a default copy to verify I had not made changes (I don't think I had). I also verified permissions throughout the site.

 

How can I troubleshoot this so I at least know how to start?

Have you installed the service packs for STS 4.3? You can also update to 4.4 but anyway, common errors are:

1) right column removed in original script => sts never get the content of the page.

2) GZip compression turned on in admin and old STS version. Switch off GZip in admin and check the result. Check latest STS version manual, don't remember when the GZip stuff has been fixed.
