After PayPal checkout, merchant doesn't receive item info...

After 1 week of the catalog being live, everything seems to be working correctly so far; payments are successfully made and processed, customers are sent back to the catalog after Paypal checkout, etc. HOWEVER when the email is sent to the merchant regarding the order, it leaves out WHAT the customer ordered. No item number and no item name. It only gives the email address, shipping info, order total, etc. for the customer.

 

The orders ARE being updated in the admin however. So for now, this is the work-around for the merchant to figure out what to actually ship to the customer. This works, but its sort of inconvenient.

 

Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do fix this problem?

I have a wierd problem. My shipping rates are not transferred correctly for some of the items. i.e. the shipping rate calculated by USPS or UPS and displayed in the oscommerce cart is not the same amount transferred to paypal.

 

Again this is not true for all orders. If you get the time try it on my site,

 

www.underthesunstore.com and try buying two of one kind of handmade printable paper and 1 another kind of handmade printable paper. Choose priority mail in USPS or ground in UPS see the amount of shipping displayed and see the amount of shipping transferred to paypal.

 

The amounts are different . PayPal shows a much higher amount transferred for shipping because of which people are almost completing their orders but going away since there is mismatch of shipping between our website and paypal.

 

Remember it does not occur for all orders so try what I described above and you will see what I am talking about.

Thanks for the response Satish, I appreciate it. As I'm not the greatest with php, I'm not quite sure what I should be looking for. I've compared it to the original file that I downloaded and don't see anything different between the two files and their code. Below is the code from the checkout_process.php file that is in use. First off, I'm not sure what's going on.... there is another topic going on inside my original post. So there are reply posts to mine and then reply posts to someone else.

 

 

REGARDING MY PAYPAL ISSUE:

I'm just using the standard osC paypal module. As far as paypal contribs, I have not used any other than the paypal info box in the left column. That's it.

I must admit, I really don't know anything about the whole Sandbox thing or how to do a test using it. I HAVE successfully set up a Paypal Developer Central account and created a test user account and verified it. After that, I'm completely lost. I've tried going to the live catalog and going through the normal process of buying an item, but when I get to the Paypal page where I enter my UN and PW, it won't accept the test user account PW. I've looked through all of the documentation that I could find and I'm still lost. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place or what. I need a little help.

in Paypal an account can not pay to itself.

 

So if you are trying to use the same account that YOU have created for payer and payee then it will reject.
