Install Queston On Local Machine

Hi all I'm new to osc as in just downloaded it today so I've got a quick install question.

I'm running XP Pro with MySQL and PHP 5 and Apache 2

I unzipped the file to a folder called shop in my htdocs folder and ran the reg global patch but when I go to install osc I can't move off installing the sample data.

Is there something I've got to change on my servers to get the install to work correctly.

I will be offline until tomorrow but will reply/answer any questions ASAP

Cheers

Hi all,

Any idea what wrong?

Still can't get past http://localhost/shop/catalog/install/install.php?step=2 Import catalog DB and Auto Config.

Cheers,

Graham

Since you are using PHP 5, you may need to edit your php.ini file so that it has the following:

register_globals = on

register_long_arrays = on

Hi All

Bkellum

I've run the Registar Globals patch before I went to run the install I think that should take care of the gloals problem or do you still recommend this change for the install?

Spax

I can't get to the stage where I can enter the user name or password, I click the install button the system then asks if I want to import the catalog database and Auto Config select these and then click the continue botton but nothing happens.

I'm going to download the system as I got it from a mate.

Thanks for the help

Graham

Hi all,

Ok I've downloaded the zip file again and still can't get past step two on my two pcs.

I also tried to install it on a friends pc who is using php 4 and mysql 4 and could not get past this step either.

Is it the case that you can not install osc on a desktop pc running its own localhost I can't think that this is the case as how else can you test modules and change the css etc.

Can anyone help as I'm about to dump the program and look for another one.

Cheers,

Graham
