Canada Post and US measure defined products

FRAMBO

Recommended Posts

I've been setting up shipping methods.

Situation: Business is located near the US border. The majority of the sales are to US customers while being based in BC, Canada.

US customer shipments originate in WA and thus the catalog is setup with a WA state location for USPS. I have setup the USPS shipping module which works great.

Now for Canadian orders the shipments originate within BC, Canada. I've installed and tweaked the Canada Post shipping module which works. However the CP module is taking the weight in Pounds as Kilograms.

I think I need a adjustment/conversion between the product weight in pounds and the weight in kilograms required by CP. The same goes for box dimensions.

Suggestions?

I have this exact dilemma, along with a couple others. I too ship within Canada and the US, from two different facilities - one in Canada and one in the US. Can anyone offer any advice as to the best way to set up one installation of OSCommerce to handle both US and Canadian orders? I realize by default I can only set up one ship from zip code, and I have done some extensive searching in the contributions database, but have been unable to find one that will solve that issue. I really don't want to end up having one installation for both countries for simplicity reasons. I am pretty handy with installing mods so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be highly appreciative.

I know this thread has been stale for a couple of months without a reply, but I didn't start a new thread just in case you've found a solution to your problem FRAMBO. If you have, please advise.

Thanks!

No I never did find a solution. I did switch over to Zen Cart however as they seemed to have more options but I never quite got that going either. I was checking to see if anyone figured this out by now.
