Stock Control

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right folder for this .....

but here goes, I run a really small shop and want to put it online. I need to be able to control the stock and its variants I.e to be able to add new product as "Fitted jumper", then add size 4,6,8 etc in blue, red and pink. Is there an option to make it so size 4 blue has 4 in stock but 6, blue is out of stock and cant be bought until it is back in stock?

Id appreciate any help on this .... oh please note that i am not downloading the software from this site, i am buying a hosting package with oscommerce integrated in .... i dont know if this makes a difference??

There have been many requests for something like this in the past, but by default, oscommerce doesn't come with this functionality... However, I did a quick search through the contribution section, and found one that looks like it may do what you'd want here:

Attribute Qty Product Info

Now, I don't know if this prevents the user from ordering an attribute combination that's out of stock, but it at least displays the current stock level of each one to them, and it wouldn't be too hard to then check the stock level when they click add to cart, and tell them that one's out of stock if the quantity is 0 (since they've already been pre-warned as to the stock level, this shouldn't come as a shock to them)...
